Pi Beta Phi's Alumnae Association was created at the 1893 Chicago Convention. Grand President Emma
Harper Turner resigned in order to become the first President of the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Association. Pi Phi was the first
women's fraternity to establish an alumnae association. Over 235,000 members have been initiated into Pi Beta Phi. Alumnae organizations
throughout the world have provided Pi Phis with the opportunity to keep alive the bonds of Pi Phi friendship.
The purposes of alumnae clubs are to promote
and support Fraternity philanthropic endeavors, assist and support collegiate chapters, provide recruitment information to prospective
members, offer friendship to new graduates and alumnae who are new to the community and establish a social group that supports
the ideals of Pi Beta Phi sisterhood.
